The following is a complete list of brews we've made since opening in March of 2010.
Some of these are always available, some are seasonal, and some will only be brewed
on occasion or possibly only one time. See our home page for a current list of what
is available on tap, in a growler, or in a bomber:
First Ascent (A Belgian Honey Lager) - brewed with an overabundance of local
light clover honey and cascade hops, this brew has a crisp citrus/clover nose with
a clean malty slightly bitter finish and a hint of toast (4 % ABV and 40 IBU)
Ro Shampo (Imperial Red Ale) - a rich blend of six grains with cascade,
chinook, columbus, and sterling hops yields a nose that evokes thoughts of
toffee and fine whisky; a pale red body of hoppy goodness; and a finish that
leaves you wanting for more... (7.5 % ABV and 89 IBU)
Camp 4 Brown Ale - a hazy Northern England Nut Brown Ale style with notes
of chocolate, coffee au lait, caramel, and perhaps a hint of a turtle sundae
(5 % ABV)
Rye Knot - a complex rye based brew somewhere between a baltic porter
and a stout with a rich black head, hints of licorice, oak, cognac, and a
light woodsy bitter finish (7.7 % ABV and 40 IBU)
Offwidth - a Double Pale Ale made with a blend of six grains, amarillo, centennial,
and williamette hops yielding an upfront bitterness that rides through to the end
with a light citrus nose (8.3 % ABV and 100 IBU)
Where Lizards Dare - a single India Pale Ale created from
a simple blend of malts and an overabundance of centennial hops, finished with
cascade and more centennial for a crisp, citrus hoppy taste (6 % ABV and 84 IBU)
Twist Of F8 - a light Wheat Ale with just a hint of
watermelon, delicately hopped with hallertau (4 % ABV)
Snake Pro DIPA - the big ugly brother of Where Lizards Dare,
an over the top India Pale Ale created with twice the grains of Lizard and
an extreme quantity of nugget and cascade hops (9 % ABV and 100 IBU)
Harvest Ale #1 - an Extra Special Bitter (ESB) style, this fall brew blends
three grains and a generous supply of freshly harvested local organically grown
wet cascade hops to create a fresh nose and bitter start which blend together with
the malts to yield tones of peppery spice (7 % ABV)
Crash Test Blonde - a Belgian style Blond Ale, combines munich malts together with
Belgian style Candi sugar and Tettnang, Hallertau, Styrian Goldings, and Saaz hops
forming a sweet collision of earth, flowers, and spice with a slightly bitter finish
(6 % ABV)
Bourbon Rye Knot - our original Baltic Rye aged together with vanilla beans for
over 5 months in a Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrel. This blend of seven grains,
amarillo, centennial, and warrior hops is super well balanced and is smooth as silk
(7.7 % ABV and 40 IBU)
Black Corridor (Imperial Chocolate Stout) - a blend of four grains and East Kent
Goldings hops yields notes of dark ripe fruits and deep meaty roastiness with a
rich full body, slick / oily mouthfeel, and a lingering chocolate ganache finish
(10.2 % ABV)
ReplicAle 2011 - our entry for
Brewers of Indiana Guild 2011 Winterfest
is a historical recreation of a famous New Albany beer, Ackerman's Imperial
Double Stout, which was originally brewed once a year at Easter as a treat for the
brewery's customers and as a substitute for Doppelbock, traditionally served during lent.
The official brewery name was Southern Indiana Ice and Beverage Company, but
was locally known as Ackerman's Brewery.
Brands included Amsterdamer Bock, Ackermans, Great Eagle, Royal Munich,
Vienna Select, Old Rip, Imperial Double Stout, India Pale Ale, and Daniel Boone.
The brewery, unable to make a profit in a competitive city, closed on
November 15, 1935. (7.8 % ABV)
Jumbo Love (Black Barleywine style Ale) - the nose lets you know that this one is for sipping,
the complex set of malts and equally complex set of hops meld to produce a rich
roasty backbone with hints of cherry
(10+ % ABV)
Solar Collector (American Pale Wheat Ale) - a blend of three grains with amarillo hops
both in the boil and during fermentation give this golden yellow brew a light citrus nose and
refreshing finish. (5.7 % ABV)
Scapegoat ESB (Extra Special Bitter Ale) - an american twist on a classic english Extra Special
Bitter, the nitro blend pour adds a superbly creamy mouth feel, and this sessionable brew has
Lahti's stamp of approval. (6 % ABV)
Devil's Drip (Belgian style Tripel Ale) - a classic Tripel, complete with yeast esters from its
double fermentation expressing themselves as flavors of bananas and cloves. (11.5 % ABV)
Raven Tor (Oatmeal Stout Ale) - a blend of six grains, including flaked oats, working
together with the nitro pour to produce an unbelievably smooth mouth feel - a
rich, robust body and a slightly sweet nose, the perfect blend to warm you after
a hard day of climbing in this brew's namesake crag in England's Peak District. (6.2 % ABV)
Date Night w/Jumbo Love (Black Barleywine style Ale) - Medjool dates plus a variation on Jumbo
Love - this brew is even better than Jumbo... (10.8 % ABV)
Lost Saint (Saison Ale) - also known as a farmhouse style, featuring crisp spices both in taste
and nose, a traditional after work brew for the field workers in the farms of Belgium. Pairs
well with a salad and red vinegarette dressing (6.5 % ABV)
RepliPale (American Pale Ale) - our rendition of the Brewer's of Indiana Guild Microbrewers
2011 festival ReplicAle, using only Sterling hops. (7.5 % ABV)
Bivy Surfer Pale (American Pale Ale) - blends four grains to form a deep
amber color which highlights the fortitude of the piney tones and
lingering bitterness from the chinook and warrior hops (7.7 % ABV and 70 IBU)
Slip of the Tripel (Belgian style Tripel Ale) - doubly fermented, initially
sweet, its yeast esters emit complex notes of spice, phenol, banana,
and alcohol with a slightly bitter finish - a fine autumnal offering (10.7 % ABV)
Harvest Ale #2 - an Extra Special Bitter (ESB) style, this fall brew blends
three grains and a generous supply of freshly harvested local organically grown
wet cascade and sterling hops to create a crisp nose, a bitter start, and
a refreshing finish (5.8 % ABV)
Hangdog - Black Rye Pale Ale - a blend of six grains create a full sweet body
balanced with a generous sdupply of hops including nugget, mount hood, and
polaris (7.8 % ABV and 80 IBU)
The Dark Side - Dunkel Weissen - meaning "dark wheat" ale features a slight
hint of cloves courtesy of the Bavarian yeast strain, and while the
hops are not prominent, they offer some light spice tones - a very
sessionable beer (5.2 % ABV)
Wit Kicker - Imperial Wit Ale, higher in hops and alcohol than the
traditional wit, orange peel and Belgian wit yeast yield citrus and
zest to the flavor profile, German hops give this wit a little kick
(7.7 % ABV)
Dogma Dubbel - Belgian style Dubbel Ale, Belgian, German, and English malts
Perle and Styrian Goldings hops and molasses creates a slightly
sweet and rich body with a light spicy floral hop note, the Belgian
yeast adds banana, cloves, and a hint of green apple (7.3 % ABV)
Zaphot Hefeweizen - German style Wheat Ale - begins with notes of spice
and clove and finishes with a light banana tone lightly hopped with Hallertauer
Mittlefruh and Tettnang hops a delightful spring libation (6 % ABV)
Foothills Root Beer - our own finely crafted root beer made with
wintergreen and honey (0 % ABV, no caffeine)
Pirate's Pils - a classic Bohemian pils featuring German and Czech hops (5.2 % ABV)
Mount Baldy Wheat - Mild Wheat Ale - a light sessionable summer offering
brewed with amarillo hops - our lightest wheat (5.7 % ABV)
Benny Hill IPA - British style IPA - a simply delightful blend of Brittish malts,
yeast, and hops (including Northdown, WGV, and Phoenix) meld to produce a nutty
charachter with notes of lemon (7.5 % ABV and 61 IBU)
Bivy Surfer Pale - American Pale Ale - a blend of four grains to form a deep
amber color which highlights the fortitude of the piney tones and lingering
bitterness from the chinook and warrior hops (7 % ABV and 70 IBU)
Yin & Yang - Wheatwine Ales - we brewed to different wheat wines, both from
the same roots, but one dark (Yin) and the other light (Yang), these seemingly
opposite brews may lead you to think they are different, while in reality, they
are basically the same (11.5 % ABV)
Oktoberfest - Marzen-style Lager - in the German tradition of Oktoberfest
brews, this Marzen-style lager greets your nose and tongue with a carmel
sweetness from the grains and finishes with a mild bitterness from the hops -
true to style and wonderfully flavorful (6.5 % ABV)
Choss - Triple IPA - a pale creamy head lingers and laces the sides of the glass
atop this hop lover's dream which piles in Polaris, Cluster, and Perle hops
to produce a sweet nose with floral, citrus, and pine tones; a medium
malt body; and a crisp bitter finish - delightful (10 % ABV and 90 IBU)
Belly Pat - Rye Pale Ale - malted and flaked rye with wheat yield a smooth
yet spicy base accentuated by a complex blend of hops adding earthy and
fruity tones - winner in our employee homebrew contest, this recipe was
created by Char and Becky Pavich (7.5 % ABV and 64 IBU)
All brews are hand crafted from natural ingredients, unpasteurized for a
healthier, fuller bodied beer rich with essential vitamins, flavonoids and
antioxidants.
